How do I add my TU/e email account to Thunderbird?

Traditionally, TU/e email accounts could be added quite easily but starting December 6th, email can only be accessed using multi-factor authentication.
Regular student inbox (@student.tue.nl)
- Fill in the following details. Make sure to opt for the manual configuration and leave the password blank. When you are done, press the Advanced Config button (note that "Done" is grayed out).
- In account settings, make sure to update "Authentication method" to "OAuth2"
- Update the SMTP account to "OAuth2" as well
Delegated inbox
If you want to sign in to a delegated email inbox, the steps are approximately the same. However, note that the IMAP username should be >@tue.nl whereas the SMTP username should be >@student.tue.nl.
